QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Oh, I love Daylight Savings Time!”
– Literally no one. ever.

IDEA OF THE DAY

If you’re like me, the daylight saving bonanza of springtime is anything but pleasant. Sunday was disorienting, with WAY too many cups of tea. Several friends I met with mentioned sleeping right through their favorite yoga & pilates classes. Monday morning, as my mother left for work, she said she’d love nothing more than to turn right around and go back to bed (and this, from a German woman who NEVER takes a break!)

The only one that took the changing of time in stride was Peachy…my mother’s bird.

Peachy woke up chipper than ever. She twittered nonstop to anyone who would listen that it was time to get up and start the day. Rather than dragging her feathers, she enjoyed each moment and happily chirped about being together around the kitchen table.

While I am not saying that we should be more like Peachy, I do think it’s lovely to appreciate her state of being and to emulate some of her characteristics; finding happiness with those we love, enjoying the morning by saying hello to our community, sharing food (that’s a Peachy recommendation, not mine), and taking each moment as it is.

So as you navigate the changes this week, may you find the time to be gentle with yourself and discover the little moments that bring a sense of joy to your day.
