QUOTE OF THE DAY

“It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.”
Tony Robbins

IDEA OF THE DAY

Today, dear friend, we are going to go back to the basics; namely, we’re putting the focus on consistency (cue the Sesame Street theme for the word of the day!).

From the moment we wake up and make our first cup of coffee, to the last thought we have before shutting our eyes and falling asleep, our daily routines are filled with consistency.  It shows up in the conscious effort to go to the gym, meditation practice, or taking intentional deep breaths….yet can also unconsciously surface in the habits of scrolling too long on our phones, eating one chocolate too many, or fixating on an issue that’s hard to shake.

For today’s food for thought- I’m curious how we can take the parts of our routine that could use some intentional consistency, and give it a boost. For example, I have a habit of reaching for my phone as soon as I wake up (yes, guilty guilty!). Do I want to change this pattern? (Yes!)  Could checking my phone wait? (Absolutely!) What other options would I like to replace it with? (hmm, what about taking a deep breath and noticing three things in my room? Or thanking the Universe for another day of life? Or getting up and heading over to my yoga mat?)

The inquiry continues for each of us. And as I fine tune my patterns and habits with little tweaks, I encourage you to take a look at your own and see what’s ready for some intentional consistency.

You got this!
