QUOTE OF THE DAY
“The real gift of life is not found in checking off boxes, but in moments that make you feel alive.”
– Brené Brown
IDEA OF THE DAY
This week has been a flurry (and I’m not talking snow!!); wrapping up holiday fairs, catching up on emails, prepping for celebrations, and somehow fitting in the everyday things like cleaning, laundry, and cooking. With so much on my plate, I didn’t have the headspace yesterday to sit down and write this dear newsletter for you. That checkbox remained unchecked.
But instead, something interesting happened that shifted my perspective from anxious “get it all done now” mode to simply being present in the moment.
I can sometimes be an overachiever. Ambitiously so.
Every now and then, I actually manage to accomplish everything on my list. But more often than not, things have to fall away. I have to let go of control.
Yesterday was one of those days. I had a bazillion things to do, but in the afternoon, I received a call from a past real estate client—a lovely older couple who recently moved just five minutes away. They invited me over for pastries, coffee, and a chat.
Every part of my brain said, “There’s too much to do!” But something quieter inside nudged me to go.
So I did.
And for the next few hours, I munched on pastries, listened to stories, shared a few of my own, and sank into the sweetness of connection instead of racing through my to-do list.
I know you probably have a full plate too. Things that need to get done. But these small, spontaneous moments of connection are powerful. They remind us that laughter, stories, and shared food matter just as much, maybe more, than productivity ever could.
So this week, may you have a magical connection or two with the people you love. Enjoy the little moments.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
What would it look like to measure a good day not by how much I accomplished, but by how much I felt alive and connected?
