QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.”
-Benjamin Disraeli
IDEA OF THE DAY
“So, what would you like to focus on today?”
“Well, Joyna, how about we talk about all the reasons I feel stuck—and everything that’s getting in the way of doing anything about it?”
“We could… or we could take action and actually do something about it.”
Cue the eye roll. “Ugh.”
It’s surprisingly comfortable to talk about the things that make us uncomfortable. But when it comes time to act—to make a change—that’s when fear and anxiety tend to show up. One reason it feels so hard to take action is that doing so means confronting parts of yourself you’re not proud of. Maybe you feel ashamed that it’s taken you this long to move forward. Maybe your mind is spinning through worst-case scenarios. Or maybe you’re just plain scared—and that fear has you frozen in place.
Taking action brings the ugh to the surface. It doesn’t feel great, but at least you’re no longer standing in one place stuck in your thoughts.
Staying stuck only keeps you in a loop of frustration. There’s no movement, no growth, and the story you’re telling yourself just gets louder, heavier, and harder to shake.
So take action—no matter how small or blah it feels. Not sure where to begin? Start where it feels scariest. That’s often the very place calling for your attention. Focusing on one small action in that area can start to dissolve the emotional weight that’s been building for far too long.
And if it feels daunting, I’m here for you. We can do it together.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
If I dig into my fear, what am I most afraid will happen if I take action?
And what might happen if I don’t?
