IDEA OF THE DAY

Picture this: A beautiful art room with large wooden desks that transform into easels. Soft, glowing lights warm the space. Paintbrushes hang neatly along the back wall. Gentle music plays in the background. It’s a sunny day, and the front wall of windows is open, letting in the warm spring air. Every supply needed to create is ready. A blank canvas waits.

All that’s missing is the artist.

This scene reflects something that personally brings me so much joy—and yet, I often struggle to prioritize it. (Yup, even I have things I haven’t figured out, gotta coach myself!)

There are emails to answer, projects to move forward, people I love to care for, and a house that always seems to need cleaning. Sometimes it feels like everything else comes first, before the one thing that is just for me.

Do you ever feel that way?

And yet, when I carve out even 30 minutes to paint, my heart begins to fill. I connect to my creative side, cue up my favorite playlist, and let the pressure of everything I should be doing fade into the background.

Because I know how easy it is to push this joy aside, I’ve started protecting it. I schedule one hour of painting on my calendar every week—same time, same place, like a standing date with my creativity. I remind myself how good I’ll feel afterward. And when those guilty thoughts creep in—I don’t have time for this or there are more important things to do—I acknowledge them gently and let them pass, like clouds drifting across the sky.

So this week, I want to ask you:
What’s your one thing?
The thing that lights you up, that fills you with energy, simply because it’s just for you.

Let’s find a way to invite a little more of that into your life.

You deserve it. Truly.
